Blue House Construction specialises in the design and build of quality Finnish glu-laminated log construction. As a fully operating Design Practice we have over 20 years of experience in Design, Planning Applications, Building Regulations and Project Managment. Equipped with the latest CAD and 3D capabilities, and an efficient working relationship with a Finnish log factory, we are able to provide a slick and efficient turn-key service, from initial concepts through to a practical completion.

Our services include:

• Technical Design and Final Cost Tendering,
• Building regulations application submission,
• Manufacture of building elements in Finland (typical 8 week turnaround),
• Project Management of all contracted and sub-contracted parties,
• Client representation under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and all relevant legislation,
• Representation and implementing of JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) Contracts for involved parties.

Importing the log structure and high performance doors and windows from Finland provides us with the best resources at a competative price. The Finnish Forestry Commission is one of the most advanced forestry schemes in the world - with every tree that is used for such purpose must be of at 80 years of age. Due to the Finnish climate the pine and spruce used in our log buildings grow much slower than timber sourced in the UK and many other locations, giving a tighter ring structure and as a result better quality and extra strength. For every tree that is felled under the forestry scheme it is a requirement that 7 trees are planted in its place, ensuring a supply for the future in mind.
